Energy Saving Solutions For Your Home

Several organizations have partnered with the Blue Horizons Project and have programs designed to help your home become more energy efficient and contribute to efforts to control our area’s energy demand.

Let's Go Electric

Electrify Asheville-Buncombe, is a program helping area residents take climate action at home by replacing fossil fuel-based appliances with efficient, low-carbon, electric technology.

We invite you to be part of this exciting initiative, helping advance clean energy in North Carolina and beyond.

Lower peak demand and get paid

Duke Energy's EnergyWise program will pay you up to $175 a year to help lower the demand for energy in Buncombe County. This is the #1 thing you can do to help reduce our peak demand (and get a little extra cash).

Inflation Reduction Act Rebates

The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) provides states with funding for the Home Energy Rebates Programs.

These rebates — which include the Home Efficiency Rebates and Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates — will put money directly back in the hands of American households. The rebates can help you save money on select home improvement projects that can lower your energy bills.

This DEQ page gives updates about when and how they'll be available.

Find energy savings for low-income households

Paying for home improvements that will lower your energy use – and monthly bill – can be costly. In Buncombe County, several organizations offer help to people in need for lowering their energy use. See if you qualify.

Support solar energy

A solar energy system can save you big money on your energy bill while it lowers overall demand in our area, and substantial installation rebates and other incentives are available. Even if you can’t install a system at your home or business, there are still ways to show your support for renewable energy.
