Brew Horizons Beer Fest
Our second annual fundraiser is around the corner, and we’re excited to welcome two dozen regional breweries and cideries from 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 29 at the Harrah’s Cherokee Center (formerly the U.S. Cellular Center) in downtown Asheville. Guests will also enjoy artisanal local food, arts and crafts vendors, sustainability education areas, and live music from Pretty Little Goat and Lazybirds.
Understanding Your Carbon Footprint – a free class led by Beatrice Nathan on Monday, February 17 at Villagers Urban Homestead Supply, 6:30-7:30 PM.
This lighthearted class help deepen your understanding of the lifestyle choices we are all faced with everyday and how we can each make a difference in the face of climate change, no matter our circumstances. Free energy-saving products will be available for class participants.
An Energy Efficiency for Everyone workshop led by Green Built Alliance is coming up on February 19 at 1-3:30 PM at Lenoir Rhyne University. We will discuss things you can do yourself to save energy, how to obtain rebates and incentives that can help you cover the costs, and how to hire local professionals to support you on bigger jobs. The workshop includes an introduction to solar energy and how to pay for it.
